So I went to the library today and got myself a library card. I also checked out several YA books to read. From what I've read and been told, I need to read YA books so that I can get a feel for that genre. Seeing as I'm going to write my own YA book I need to know exactly what I'm getting myself into.

good luck...we have something in common since i'm starting my first YA novel...also it's pretty important to have a writer's group for critique
I want to get a library card but I like to own my books. I don't even like to load them out because I don't know if they are going to as good of care of my books as I do.
That is true Steph, I like to own my own books too, but seeing as I'm just trying to learn about the YA genre, I can't afford to buy all the books I need to read...so I figure a library would be a great place to check them out so that I don't have to spend a lot of money.
You are right Minnie about having a critique group, that is something that I hope to get, because I'm working on another novel too, and I know that I'm going to need other people to tell me how my story is.
